Airbricks are essential for ventilation in homes, agricultural buildings and commercial properties. Unfortunately, they are also one of the most common and overlooked entry points for mice, insects and other small pests. When a rodent infestation takes hold, airbricks often play a role in how the problem started, and they are one of the first places a professional pest controller needs to inspect during a proofing job.
To support technicians with a reliable and professional-grade solution, Lodi UK is proud to launch ProventGuard, a brand-new range of stainless steel, easy-fit airbrick covers created by the same team behind the industry-favourite Wasp Pole Pro. Designed for speed, durability and precision, ProventGuard gives pest controllers an efficient way to block pest access while maintaining essential airflow through the structure.
This new product range is now available, beginning with the most widely used airbrick type in the UK: Hepworth. More variants are in production, making ProventGuard a future-proof proofing solution that technicians can steadily incorporate into their full pest control kits.
Why Pest Controllers Need a Better Airbrick Solution
Airbrick proofing is a major part of any long-term rodent or insect control strategy. Mice and insects can squeeze through remarkably small gaps and will take any opportunity presented by an unprotected vent. Traditional vent covers or mesh often involve time-consuming installation, drilling or silicone work, and depending on the property type, may require a lot of site-specific workaround.
ProventGuard has been designed specifically to combat these issues. It offers fast installation, no drilling and no silicone, and provides an extremely professional finish that pest controllers can rely on in both residential and commercial environments. It is created to help prevent pest ingress, but without compromising the essential ventilation that airbricks provide.
What Makes ProventGuard Different?
ProventGuard solves the most common challenges pest controllers face when proofing vents:
1. Easy Push-Fit Installation
Each cover is built to push straight into place. No power tools. No adhesives. No messy sealants. No disruption to brickwork.
This makes it ideal for:
- Reactive callouts
- Large proofing jobs
- Quick turnarounds
- Difficult-access or older properties
The push-fit system uses fittings secured at the corners, locking the cover neatly in place while still giving a clean, discreet finish.
2. Durable Stainless Steel Construction
Unlike cheaper mesh options, ProventGuard is made from stainless steel for long-lasting protection. This material is resistant to corrosion, weather exposure and gnawing, making it suitable for farms, outbuildings, warehouses, food sites and coastal properties where external conditions may be harsher.
3. Maintains Airflow While Blocking Pests
While the priority is pest prevention, ProventGuard is carefully engineered so airflow is still maintained. The cover prevents mice, insects and similar pests entering the building but does not interfere with the ventilation requirements of the structure.
4. Professional Appearance
The range is available in stainless steel, grey and brown, giving technicians the ability to choose covers that match the building’s exterior. Proofing products often have to be functional and subtle, and ProventGuard achieves both.

How to Identify Which Airbrick Cover You Need
Alongside the launch, we have created a detailed PDF guide to help technicians quickly identify the type of airbrick installed on a property. This guide breaks down:
- Hole layout and count
- Dimensions (such as 215 x 65mm, 215 x 140mm, 215 x 215mm)
- Colour variations
- Borders, shapes and features
- Compatible ProventGuard® cover type
For example:
- Hepworth small airbricks are 215 x 65mm with 9 holes across by 2 down and a light terracotta finish.
- Redbank small airbricks share the same dimensions but come in a darker terracotta and require the rubber washer to be removed when fitting.
- Victorian medium airbricks have various inner border patterns and smaller holes.
- Plastic airbricks vary between 215 x 65mm and 215 x 69mm and come in multiple vent styles.
This identification guide allows pest controllers to determine the correct cover quickly and confidently while on site.
How ProventGuard Is Fitted
The fitting process remains simple and universal across all sizes:
- Secure the fittings to the corners of the ProventGuard cover.
- Align the fittings with the corresponding holes in the airbrick.
- Push the cover into place.
- Tighten each bolt until the cover is locked firmly onto the airbrick.
Because the process is uniform across the range, technicians can fit multiple covers on a single site efficiently, reducing labour time and improving the overall proofing result.
Why ProventGuard Belongs in Every Pest Controller’s Kit
A modern answer to rodent and insect ingress
Rodents and insects continue to exploit structural weaknesses in buildings, and vent access remains one of the most common entry points. ProventGuard gives pest controllers an effective, premium-quality tool to block these access routes.
Speeds up proofing jobs
Pest controllers often work to tight schedules. The faster a technician can complete thorough proofing, the better the service for the customer and the more efficient the callout. This easy-fit design can shave significant time off large proofing projects.
Designed by trusted industry innovators
Produced by the same creators as the Wasp Pole Pro, ProventGuard is built with the professionalism, durability and practical detail expected from equipment created specifically for pest control environments.
Future-proof for compliance and best practice
With ongoing emphasis on prevention, integrated pest management and long-term structural proofing, these airbrick covers help technicians meet modern best practice standards. Stainless steel construction ensures long-term resilience and reduced revisit rates.
The Start of a New Proofing Range
The launch of ProventGuard marks the beginning of a wider expansion of professional-grade proofing products at Lodi UK. As more sizes and compatibility options arrive, pest controllers will be able to incorporate these covers as a standard part of every survey, every callout and every long-term pest management plan.
If your customers rely on you for complete pest protection, ProventGuard helps you deliver exactly that, starting with one of the most vulnerable parts of any building structure.
