Another Pig & Poultry Fair is done and dusted, and what an event it was.
This May, the team from Lodi UK headed back to the NEC Birmingham for the 2026 British Pig & Poultry Fair, joining thousands of flocking farmers, producers and industry professionals from across the UK for two cracking days of networking, innovation, farm stories and real conversations about the future of farming.
The event once again proved why it remains one of the biggest agri dates in the livestock calendar. With more than 8,000 visitors, over 330 exhibitors and expert speakers from across the pig, poultry and egg sectors, the NEC was buzzing from start to finish.
For Lodi UK, events like this are about far more than just products on a stand. They are about connecting directly with the people working in the industry every single day. Farmers are facing increasing pressure from rising costs, tightening legislation, biosecurity concerns and ongoing pest pressures, so having the chance to speak face-to-face and hear those real life experiences is invaluable.
Why We Love Coming Back
This was not our first Pig & Poultry Fair, and after another successful year, it definitely will not be our last.
There is something different about this event. The conversations are practical, honest and focused on finding reliable pest solutions that actually work on farm. Whether it’s chicken chat with poultry farmers dealing with fly pressure, shed talk with pig producers looking at biosecurity improvements or visitors wanting general advice around rodent control legislation, the stand stayed busy throughout both days.
It was also a brilliant opportunity to catch up with existing customers, meet new faces and showcase some of the latest new additions & innovations to the Lodi UK agricultural range.
As always, one of the highlights was seeing how engaged farmers are when it comes to improving pest management and farm hygiene. More than ever, farms are recognising that pest prevention, proofing and monitoring are just as important as treatment itself.
Putting the Spotlight on Smarter Pest Control
One of the biggest talking points on the stand this year was the launch of Organ-X Pro PYR 8 EW.
OF&G approved for organic farming and growing and designed with modern farming systems in mind, this pesticide-free, plant-based insecticide attracted a huge amount of interest from farmers looking for more environmentally considered insect control options without compromising on performance. With increasing conversations around sustainability and reducing reliance on traditional chemical inputs, it sparked plenty of discussion across the two days.
Another product generating strong interest was the new Digrain Ultra Dairy Fly Spray. Fly pressure continues to be a major concern across livestock farms, particularly during the warmer months, where high fly activity can impact animal welfare, hygiene standards and overall productivity. Farmers visiting the stand were keen to learn more about practical fly management strategies and how targeted treatments can help maintain cleaner, more comfortable farm environments. The launch of Digrain Ultra Dairy Fly Spray gave visitors the chance to explore another effective solution designed specifically with agricultural environments in mind.
We also showcased our growing Defender range for poultry sites, including Defender Recharge and Defender Tonic, which are designed to support bird health and natural immunity during stressful periods such as housing transitions and seasonal changes. Alongside the popular Defender OPP Disinfectant Smoke. Strong hygiene and biosecurity measures remain one of the biggest priorities across both pig and poultry farming, and events like this highlight just how important preventative management has become for protecting productivity and animal welfare.
Alongside these newer innovations, visitors also got hands-on with some of our trusted farm favourites, including rodent control solutions, anti-rodent proofing products and insect management tools designed specifically for agricultural animal housing.
Rodenticide Legislation Was a Huge Talking Point
One topic that came up time and time again throughout the event was the January 2026 rodenticide legislation changes.
Many farmers visited the stand wanting clarification around what the new rules mean for purchasing and using professional rodenticides. Under the updated stewardship requirements, anyone purchasing and using professional-use rodenticides must now hold recognised certification or sufficient CPD points. For many visitors, it was reassuring to have the chance to speak directly with the team and get clear, practical advice on the quickest and easiest ways to remain compliant. We had lots of conversations around the LANTRA online training route, particularly because it allows farmers to complete the learning flexibly around busy farm schedules without needing time away from the business.
The legislation changes have undoubtedly created a shift in how farms approach rodent control, but they have also highlighted just how important professional standards, responsible baiting and integrated pest management are for the future of the industry.
Real Conversations About Real Farm Challenges
One of the best parts of exhibiting at Pig & Poultry Fair is hearing first-hand what is happening on farms right now.
Across the event, there were repeated conversations around feed loss, rodent pressure near housing units, fly control challenges during warmer months and the growing importance of proofing and prevention. Biosecurity remains front and centre for livestock farms, particularly as pest activity can quickly impact feed integrity, animal welfare and overall farm hygiene standards.
It reinforced something we always say at Lodi UK. Pest control on farms is never just about reacting once there is a problem. The farms seeing the best long-term results are the ones investing in prevention, monitoring and consistent management plans all year round.
Razzle Returns to the NEC
Of course, it would not be a Lodi UK event without some Razzle mania. Our rat stress ball giveaways proved to be a crowd favourite, with plenty of visitors squeezing one into their pockets. A real booth buzz, Razzle brought plenty of mischief, smiles, laughs, and even a few queue-worthy moments across the two days. From photo opportunities to farmers taking home their own piece of the Lodi fun, it was brilliant to see so many people getting involved.
Trade shows can be busy, intense environments, so bringing a bit of personality and energy to the stand is something we always love doing. Farming is built on people and relationships, and events like Pig & Poultry Fair are a reminder of just how strong and supportive the industry really is.
Thank You for Visiting Us
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Lodi UK stand over the two days.
Whether you came for product advice, a catch-up, legislation guidance or simply to grab some freebies and say hello to the team, we genuinely appreciate every conversation.
The 2026 British Pig & Poultry Fair once again showed why it is such an important event for the industry, bringing together innovation, expertise and practical farming solutions all under one roof.
After another fantastic year at the NEC, we are already looking forward to doing it all again.
